We show how Germany's most-watched news program reflects the mood in the country. Using AI-supported sentiment analysis, we evaluate the daily Tagesschau broadcasts at 8 p.m.

Over the past 30 days, reaction analysis shows a stark divergence in party reactions. AfD (+27.7%) and CDU (+10.6%) show positive reactions to current developments, while DIE LINKE, SPD, and Bündnis 90/Die Grünen tend to react more negatively to current events — with Bündnis 90/Die Grünen being most critical at -61.1%. These trends reflect increasing polarization in political reactions.
